Information
History
A-TEC was founded in 1999 by Anders E. Johansen in Norway. He started development and production in the garage and with no more than a dedicated interest in making better silencers.
From manufacturing silencers in his garage for hunters in Norway the successful company is now located in a modern factory of 600 sqm. A-TEC provides professional management and employees who manufacture more than 20 000 silencers to a market ranging from the Northern Europe all the way to New Zealand.
Research and Development
Anders noticed early on that the existing technology and construction were obsolete. He achieved major improvements in performance, weight, construction, and design – and the birth of a new silencer era was set.
Since the very beginning, A-TEC has acknowledged the importance of quality time and resources in research and development in order to stay ahead of competitors.
Performance and Quality
We can safely say these are among the best suppressors on the market. Simply compare our stated specifications against any competitor and chances we'll be the best in most areas. A-TEC suppressors are extremely well made. Perfect concentricity, intelligent material selection and fine tolerances add to the effectiveness of A-TEC designs.
A-TEC test their designs using ISO & NATO Mil-Spec measuring standards. The noise reduction ratings are trustworthy and verified by independent testers and media. Notice how many other manufacturers don't publish their measured performance...it's because they aren't as good.

Suppressor design is a trade-off of the competing factors of size & weight, length past muzzle, durability and noise reduction efficiency
Suppressors perform the function of trapping the (usually) supersonic gas exiting from the muzzle in it's chamber and then releasing it slowly to the environment after the projectile departs.
The basic physics are pretty easy: The bigger the suppressor volume and longer distance it goes past the muzzle = the better it will trap high velocity gas.
- So, if you want the most effective/efficient suppressor, it will be among the biggest in size.
- And if you want the most durable option then it will be among the heaviest, such is materials science.
- Because we have to offset effectiveness and durability against the need to carry and wield it, we strike a balance between size and effectiveness and provide a selection of options. Also many of our models are modular which allows the user to select their own configuration.
The secret sauce is in the design of the baffles arrangement in the detail of how it decelerates the exiting gas. This is what really sets A-Tec apart from competing suppressors in their size/weight class.
- We have broken down our range below into groups by likely use case. That is the best start point for deciding the best option for your needs.
