A-TEC NEW ZEALAND

SUPPRESSOR FOR ANY PUMP ACTION OR SEMIAUTO SHOTGUN

The A-TEC A12 can be fitted to any shotgun with pump action or semiauto with choke system. Highly effective and light weight, the suppressor reduces the noise signature of typical loads in a typical semi-auto gun by 19dB.

Features

  • Easy installation using the correct choke and included tools. It should be ordered with a choke that fits the gun of your choice.
  • Easy to clock / time / align vertically with the gun axis so it presents as unobtrusive profile as possible.
  • Lightweight (for its size) to minimise effect on gun balance.
  • Sits low under the top rib so it doesn't interfere with instinctive sighting.
  • Ideal setup on a short barrelled semi gun.

    ATTACHMENT INSTRUCTIONS

    1. Check your gun is unloaded and totally safe.
    2. It is easiest if the gun is mounted in a cradle while you fit the suppressor and a friend to lend a hand is helpful.
    3. Clean your barrel choke threads. Apply a little grease or oil to the choke threads to keep the choke lubricated.
    4. Check you have the correct A-Tec A12 Choke by inserting and threading into your barrel lightly by hand.
    5. Screw in until it stops. The choke thread should be totally inside the barrel, leaving the separate thread for the Suppressor on the outside.
    6. Use the supplied A-Tec Choke Key to torque the choke tightly into the barrel.
    7. Screw on the lock nut (contra-nut) onto the A12 choke. Orientate with the cutouts for the wrench to the rear. Screw down until lightly contacting the barrel.
    8. Now screw on the A12 Suppressor. It can be a little tricky to find where the threads engage so take your time. Place the suppressor thread onto the choke thread, use a finger in the end of the suppressor to provide a rotation axis and use the other hand to rotate the suppressor to find the start of the thread.
    9. Screw the Suppressor down lightly until it stops, and check orientation (clock position).  Now unscrew the suppressor only just enough to orientate it correctly.
    10. Screw the lock nut out to meet the suppressor.
    11. Use the supplied wrench to apply torque to the lock nut against the Suppressor to lock it in position. A hand holding the Suppressor to keep it clocked while applying torque to the locknut is required.
    12. Visually check that the Suppressor appears straight and true on the barrel.

    Cleaning

    1. Do not store the suppressor on the gun after firing, it will lead to corrosion problems.
    2. Unscrew the two screws on the front end of the Suppressor. A 3mm hex key is needed. Chose a tight fitting one as it is easy to strip the screw heads. Stripped screw heads can be re-attacked with a T20 Torx driver hammered into position.
    3. With the screws out, use a soft mallet to tap the exit pipe down and extract the baffles from the rear.
    4. Wipe clean, lubricate and apply grease to the rubber seals.
    5. Apply copious oil to the screws before reinserting.
